40 degree fever and holidayed in Spain… oops

A couple of days after arriving back from Spain I woke up with a 40c fever. Not good :-) . That if you don’t know is one humdinger of a fever. Strangely I wasn’t sweating and had no other flu like symptoms, I was just light headed, mildly hallucinate and damned hot. Having read about Majorca and Spain being the top resorts for catching  swine/pig flu I clearly was concerned and phoned a clinic for advice, having mentioned I just come back from Spain they duly sent round 2 doctors. They stayed well clear of me, asked a few questions from the other side of the room and were satisfied I wasn’t a swine flu case. I still have a temperature of 38 degrees and for some daft reason decided to go into work today which was not a good idea as I can’t really concentrate and have bitten a few employees heads off without real justification. I think I’m going to apologise to the headless, go home and take a day or two off me thinks.

Get well soon, mate!

Hi Alan,

indeed, get well soon! I have just scrolled through your other entries here and am utterly disgusted to read that you have lost so much weight in such short time. Diets and loosing weight is so much easier for men, they can just cut down on some things and that is it. Women instead literally have to starve! Plus we very unfortunately have been given a strong craving for chocolate by nature, that is so unfair! But if Uli has also lost weight by this combination diet you are doing, I want the instructions! OK, no Bahama Mamas and Veggie Burgers at Henry’s anymore, I gather that much. I once tried the “Trennkost” thing, which at least lets you eat some carbohydrates, even if not in yummy combination with proteins, but as you say, spending life sorting food in categories with the result that nothing tastes particularly delicious anymore, holds a limited amount of appeal.
Anyway, I have been to Rota, yes, it is not the Mecca for party loving animals, you should have done the Ballermann Tour for that! The kids running around at all times is a continuous fascination for me too, whenever I am in Spain. Also the noise, not only the traffic and building (although, that might have stopped a bit now?), but the talking is done so loudly, the kids all seem to be screaming at the top of their lungs the whole time. Probably have to, otherwise they would never be heard…
All the best, say hello to Uli from me, Tania
