I’m back from my hols. Two weeks in sunny Rota, Spain which isn’t that well known as a holiday resort (It’s south west Spain in Andalusia). It was quiet, a bit too quiet. Not a karaoke bar in sight and I am one of those sad people who likes the karaoke 
Not much night life really apart from weekends from around 2 am. I swear all Spanish were vampires in a previous life. The siesta thing where everything stops from 2pm until 6 pm also takes some getting used to. They don’t even go out for a meal until gone 10 pm (we are talking the whole family including babies and little children). There are, I kid you not, bouncy castles in every plaza laid on for the kids and at midnight they are full. They are very child friendly and family orientated. You struggle to get a kid even into a restaurant at any time of the day in the UK nowadays, let alone what we witnessed several times and that is a kid of about 8 propping up a bar (with his coke I should add) at 1 am. They are also very clean. Streets were spotless and it seemed they cleaned their paths and windows on an almost daily basis. They could do with some karaoke bars though 
Here is an open letter to FFN radio station. Someone please forward this post to them if you know any employees there.
“Dear FFN,
You regularly promote, to a catchy tune, about “Der Besten Mix” and how you play all the new stuff etc. However, I am absolutely sick to death of Lady ‘bloody’ Gaga and “Poker Face”. You play it umpteen times a day. That is NOT what I would call in English “the best mix”. The worse thing is when I change channels other stations invariably are playing it too. The song is no longer new, most people I know are sick to death of it, and it’s starting to make me gaga. The record company must have paid you an awful lot of money to kill the song by playing it non-stop.
Stop it! or I shall get a petition sorted out and deliver it personally to your head offices with members of the press present and 2000 other demonstrators who will be waving banners with “Der schlechte Mix” and suchlike . Either that or I’ll be in a mental institution.
